You generally won't find a new slugline for every camera move because you'll have several setups for each scene (the master shot, plus coverage). I just want a good plain text editor that lets me write without thinking about pages or formatting. This allows your Director and DP to determine the shot selection and the lighting needed for the scene. I havent tried out Slugline but it looks really nice. And all based on a plain-text file that’s compatible with everything. Sluglines / Scene headings should be used when there is a locationor timechange. However, it is important that the abbreviation contains all starting letters of the actual words in order. You may run into a deal where your reader has to flip back through pages to figure out what time period you're in because the trailing time reference was missed. Sync your work over iCloud or Dropbox, and write wherever, whenever. And Slugline 2 works with Slugline for iPhone and iPad.

Slugline 2 produces beautiful, industry-standard paper and PDF screenplays, with perfect pagination. I sort of expect people to skim (I do) the slugs and the emphasis can help. Slugline 2 uses Fountain, a plain-text screenplay format that’s free, open, and compatible with everything. In English and German, we also feature generic abbreviations. These days I underline a lot of the special slug info so people skimming know its important. You get a powerful Outline, Timeline, and color-coded notes, all without taking your hands off the keyboard. Yes, you can use abbreviations in your script.
